One cold stormy day a Goatherd drove his Goats for shelter into a cave, where a number of Wild Goats had also found their way. So intense did the heat become, that the Traveler at last decided to stop for a rest, and as there was no other shade to be found, the Traveler sat down in the shadow of the Ass. A chain!,cried the Wolf. But the big hulking Camel made himself very ridiculous as he kicked out his knotty legs and twisted his long clumsy neck. Delighted to find how much lighter his burden had become, the Ass finished the journey very gayly. You lie here in my cooling shade, and yet you say I am useless! Many a Hare and many a Mouse died. But just then he noticed that the hair on the Dog's neck was worn and the skin was chafed. He would have made you feel how much sharper his claws are than your teeth.
