Fable #218

The Tortoise, you know, carries his house on his back. All the Mice were much surprised that they had not thought of such a plan before. Do you think you can move the wagon by simply looking at it and whining about it? A great many persons in Rhodes had seen him do it and would prove that what he told was true. When the wind blew, the great Oak stood proudly upright with its hundred arms uplifted to the sky. The Wolf saw the wisdom of the advice, for he wanted to enjoy his meal without any danger of choking. And so they died, giving their lives for the sake of a taste of sweetness.

Do not try to ape your betters.
