A Dog asleep in a manger filled with hay, was awakened by the Cattle, which came in tired and hungry from working in the field. When a man decides to do his own work and not depend on any one else, then you may be sure there will be no more delay. No doubt he was hungry, but that was not an excuse for stealing. Then he turned to the Fox. You divide it, he roared angrily. Show me a white paw, he said, or I won't let you in. A white paw, of course, is a feature few Wolves can show, and so Master Wolf had to go away as hungry as he had come. they cried. I have eaten goats and bulls and stags. But the third time, the Fox went boldly up to the Lion and, without turning a hair, said, Hello, there, old top.

Pride goes before a fall.
