I have managed to get Joy running under the BDW conservative
garbage collector on my Linux-386 box, disabling the built-in
GC. This provides GC for both strings and list nodes, and
allows a large memory with clean recovery (no segfaults)
from out-of-memory conditions. (Well, almost; you can get
into a situation where Joy is still running, but there is
no memory to enter any commands, since they are allocated
onto a list.)
Patches will be available later.
