A certain Father had a family of Sons, who were forever quarreling among themselves. So she laid aside all hard words and spoke very kindly to him. He could see his stall at the foot of the mountain, and to him the quickest way down seemed to be over the edge of the nearest cliff. Now he sat down and looked at the grapes in disgust. asked the Kite. The Lion was much amused to think that a Mouse could ever help him. I want to get married, replied the Eagle, and I can't find a mate who can provide for me as I should like. Without more ado, he dived and left the foolish Monkey to take care of himself, while he swam off in search of some human being to save.

They who will not listen to reason but stubbornly go their own way against the friendly advice of those who are wiser than they, are on the road to misfortune.
