A frisky young Kid had been left by the herdsman on the thatched roof of a sheep shelter to keep him out of harm's way. He took care to let all his neighbors know about it, and then lay down in his cave to wait for visitors. At the next turnstile they overtook some women carrying market baskets loaded with vegetables and other things to sell. They had done me no harm. Meanwhile, the flock was moving slowly homeward. In her sleep the Country Mouse dreamed she was a Town Mouse with all the luxuries and delights of city life that her friend had described for her. Aha!, he muttered, What a great shouting and running about there would have been, had they caught me at just the very thing they are doing with so much enjoyment!
