Fable #749

previous | next

One day a shepherd discovered a fat Pig in the meadow where his Sheep were pastured. What caught his attention this time and made him stop for a second look, was that the lucky Crow held a bit of cheese in her beak. That is a Jackdaw, my children. So she opened her beak wide to utter her loudest caw, and down fell the cheese straight into the Fox's open mouth. He easily guessed what the Wolf had in mind, and thought of a plan to save himself. But she could walk sideways only, like her son. But the Gnat was not in the least disturbed. It turned out as the Frog had said I shall take very good care of you. My father was an Ass after all.

Take warning from the misfortunes of others.
