In a spell of dry weather, when the Birds could find very little to drink, a thirsty Crow found a pitcher with a little water in it. But we should feel very much ashamed to make such a terrible fuss about it like you do. The slightest breeze that ruffles the surface of the water makes you bow your heads, while I, the mighty Oak, stand upright and firm before the howling tempest. True enough, replied the Boar, but when danger does come there will not be time for such work as this. The Farmer saw that he would have to take other measures. Lifting his wings he tried to rise from the ground. said one. He cannot eat the hay and yet he will not let us eat it who are so hungry for it! And when the Fox began his performance all over again, so dazed did they become, that they lost their hold on the limb, and fell down one by one to the Fox.
