Fable #81

A stray Lamb stood drinking early one morning on the bank of a woodland stream. All this the Ass saw with much discontent. When the Judge called the case, witnesses declared that they had seen certain winged creatures in the neighborhood of the hollow tree, who hummed loudly, and whose bodies were striped, yellow and black, like Bees. By this time the poor birds' heads were in a whirl. But he had to leave his beautiful bushy tail behind him. Wise Judge Hornet quickly understood why they did so: They knew they could not build a honey comb and fill it with honey. But the little Frogs all declared that the monster was much, much bigger and the old Frog kept puffing herself out more and more until, all at once, she burst.

The laws of nature are unchangeable.
