One day a shepherd discovered a fat Pig in the meadow where his Sheep were pastured. As they lay looking up among the pleasant leaves, they saw that it was a Plane Tree. Now the Mice kept more strictly at home than ever. But the Fox had so many plans for escape he could not decide which one to try first. As he crossed a narrow footbridge, he happened to look down and saw himself reflected in the quiet water as if in a mirror. they said laughing, what do you call it, father? But the greedy Dog thought he saw a real Dog carrying a bone much bigger than his own. But he did not bring any stones with him. So he decided not to wait and made off as fast as his legs could carry him.
